PointBase Education Terms

Authorized education use

Education accounts are for educators and authorized school representatives. Before entering student information, the educator must follow applicable school or district approval, consent, acceptable-use, procurement, and records procedures.

Student information

Enter only the minimum classroom information needed. Use initials, approved nicknames, or other school-approved display names. PointBase may generate an initials avatar and show a personal-best score from that display name. Do not enter or upload student photographs, email addresses, identification numbers, medical information, addresses, telephone numbers, passwords, or other sensitive records.

Permitted purpose

Education data is used to operate accounts, classroom rosters, challenges, homework, scoring, and teacher reports. PointBase does not sell education data, use it for behavioral advertising, or use it to create unrelated commercial profiles.

Teacher-created challenge content

Educators keep ownership of challenge titles, lesson topics, questions, and answer choices they create. The educator gives PointBase limited permission to store, process, and display that content only as needed to provide the Education service. Educators are responsible for checking mathematical accuracy, instructional suitability, permission to use the content, and removal of personal or sensitive information before saving or assigning a challenge.

Educator responsibilities

Educators must protect account credentials, keep challenge codes and student PINs within the intended group, supervise classroom use, review teacher-created questions before launch, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Registration is not proof of approval by a board, district, or school.

Beta service

Education features are in beta and may change. PointBase may suspend access to protect users, investigate misuse, maintain security, or meet legal obligations. No online service can guarantee uninterrupted operation or absolute security.

Teacher images

Teacher profile photos and portal background images are optional. Do not upload student photographs, school records, confidential information, or images you do not have permission to use.

Data control

Teachers can remove students, classes, custom challenges, optional teacher images, or their education account. Retention and request procedures are explained in the School Privacy Center.
